Chad's Scenarios

Scenario: A Rash But No Insurance

Chad recently discovered he has a rash. Without health insurance, Chad assumes he can't afford to see a doctor or go to the hospital. He googled "rash", but was met with a long list of useless websites. He remembered human resources mentioned something about COBRA before they pushed him out the door, so he googled that too. The Department of Labor website on COBRA was very confusing so Chad gave up.

While using the free wireless at the library, he noticed that the library portal has a link to a health and wellness resource center. Chad typed "rash" into the search box and found a large number of articles about rashes. The articles were on all different types of rashes, and was just about to give up when he saw that the system was requesting more information. After looking at a list of suggested search terms, Chad was able to narrow the results down to a few likely culprits.

While browsing these results, a "Local Services and Events" box caught his eye. The site was customized with the locations and phone numbers for local clinics. There was also going to be a free session on filling out COBRA documents at the library next week. Chad jotted down a few phone numbers and added the COBRA event to his calendar. Chad left the library feeling relieved that at least one of his problems was almost solved.
